What we are checking

Reading it quickly mid-point, controls that work with sweat and sun, the scoring itself, and holding up through a whole match.

Syncing with your account

On Android, tap Link a device, pick your Garmin and confirm the account on the watch. Garmin Connect has to be connected to it. On the web, type once the code that appears when you tap Connect to phone on the watch. After that, tap Play with watch in each match; the link is kept. Share the scoreboard creates the link for spectators. Linked matches share their points live. When you finish a quick match on the watch, its result goes to your account as soon as Garmin Connect is online. To share with other players, send them the match link.

Finishing the match

Swipe up to open Actions, from the start screen too. During a match the order is Undo, Correct, Finish match and Exit. Check the score and tap Save and finish to go back to the start, with Quick match and Play with phone if you have already linked your account. In linked matches it keeps the pending points and hands control back to the phone once they have been sent. You can start another match while the closing is still being sent in the background. The watch holds up to three pending linked matches; when that space fills up, it asks you to sync before carrying on.

Exit sits directly in Actions, below Finish match while you play. It closes Puntako keeping the match and its pending points; it does not finish the match or hand control back to the phone.

Swipe left to right to go back. It closes an open menu, or returns from the linking screen. From the score or the start screen, it leaves Puntako keeping the match. Swiping never adds a point.

Pausing from the score

Hold your finger in the middle until it buzzes and Paused appears. The app waits two seconds from the moment Garmin reports the long press, so the whole thing takes a little longer. Letting go early or moving your finger cancels the pause. To carry on, open Actions and tap Resume.

Playing without notifications

On Venu, turn on Do Not Disturb from the watch controls before you play, and turn it off afterwards. Puntako cannot turn it on for you, and cannot promise emergency alerts will get through. Garmin's instructions.

We will put the official Connect IQ link here when the public version passes its tests. You do not need to sign up for anything or install files from outside the store.
